The NRSB engagement was probably one of the largest projects I have undertaken; if the truth be told...
A few elements came together to make the project one of the that has you pulling your hair out (see my facebook profile to understand why this isn’t so good for me).
So here I go, our brief was to create a highly accessible site that was multi coloured and that had full a text only version... it doesn’t sound like a lot but trust me it is.
The example we were given was the BBC (click here for the BBC accessibility section).
This was done by the very capable Darren and Craig at Baseline Creative. The developed custom animations built on the graphics already being used by NRSB. In total there were 20+ page templates and then 4 colour variations.
Our development was pushed to the limits with this project, 20+ templates, an additional 4 colour variations, zoom functionality and a full plain text version.
All the ‘heads’ were developed by Baseline Creative; they look like a small part but we languished over them. I feel Darren did us and NRSB proud with them and my favourite is probably the illustration used for the ‘NRSB Search’.
The site is beautiful to look at and something that NRSB Chief Executive, Michael Conroy, says is ‘something that makes NRSB stand out’.
Under the skin the development is exquisite; the site (at the time or preparing this) has 156 pages and 450+ links; Total Validator confirms there are only a hand full of errors and warnings on the site (and those we know about and accept as not being able to change).
I loved working with the NRSB team; the website is something I know everybody here is proud of.
